ABOUT THE PROJECT

“The project to improve the water utility infrastructure of the Semeljci agglomeration” is one of the large and significant infrastructure projects that are co-financed by EU funds, and as such the project is of exceptional importance for the area of ​​the Semeljci Municipality and the City of Đakovo, the implementation of which can improve the economic stability and quality of life of the residents.

The project is located in the Osijek-Baranja County, in the area of ​​the Semeljci and Viškovci municipalities and the town of Đakovo. The works on the project are divided into 3 groups and include the following:

GROUP 1 – Construction of the wastewater drainage system in the settlements of Koritna, Kešinci and Semeljci and works on improving the water supply system in the area of ​​the Municipality of Semeljci

GROUP 2 – Construction of wastewater drainage systems in Mrzović and Vrbica settlements

GROUP 3 – Works on improving the water supply system of the wider Đakovica area

CONSTRUCTION OF A WASTEWATER TREATMENT DEVICE – the capacity of the device is 4,800 ES, the second stage of purification with additional removal of phosphorus from the waste water, with a station for accepting the contents of septic tanks and fields for grounding excess activated sludge.

GOALS OF THE PROJECT

The basic goals of the project, which are in line with the national strategic goals and priorities, are:

  • Construction of a wastewater treatment plant for the Semeljci agglomeration in accordance with the prescribed level of treatment;
  • Achieving and maintaining a sustainable water management system through investments in the development of water supply systems, including regional systems,
  • Reducing losses and increasing the reliability and efficiency of the water supply system.
  • Reduction of the discharge of untreated wastewater into the sensitive area of ​​the Danube basin
  • Improving and protecting the quality of groundwater and soil in sensitive areas by reducing the uncontrolled discharge of wastewater into groundwater;
  • Increasing the efficiency and safety of the public drainage and wastewater treatment system, along with the introduction of an economic price for water (the polluter pays principle).

 

 

THE IMPROVEMENT OF WATER COMMUNAL INFRASTRUCTURE WILL BE ACHIEVED:

 

1. CONSTRUCTION OF A DRAINAGE SYSTEM WHICH INCLUDES

  • with a total length of 50,826 m
  • construction of 26 pumping stations
  • 1,260 preparations for household drainage connections

 

2. CONSTRUCTION, RECONSTRUCTION AND EXTENSION OF THE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM, WHICH INCLUDES

  • construction, reconstruction and extension of water supply pipelines with a total length of 23,540 m
  • construction of 2 pressure boosting stations
  • 136 preparation for home connections to the existing water supply system
  • installation of equipment at 52 measurement and regulation points
  • 1,260 water meters for remote reading of consumption.

 

3. CONSTRUCTION OF DEVICES FOR WASTEWATER PURIFICATION

  • the capacity of the device is 4,800 ES, the second stage of purification with additional removal of phosphorus from waste water, with a station for accepting the contents of septic tanks and fields for grounding excess activated sludge.
